Dog Training in Zanesville

  • PUPPY CLASS & BEGINNER CLASS $175

    (1 hour a week for 6 weeks)

    This is the first level of obedience we offer at The Ruff Academy. We’ll cover manners like barking, chewing, pulling on a leash, and potty training; as well as setting a foundation for obedience with sit, down, wait, leave it, and more!

  • INTERMEDIATE $175

    (1 hour a week for 6 weeks)

    Intermediate is the second level of our 3 obedience courses. We’ll be taking those core skills you learned in Puppy/Beginner and making them more reliable by adding distractions and duration. We also teach you how to get your pup to place, stay, heel and more! Intermediate also helps build consistency and impulse control!

  • ADVANCED $175

    (1 hour a week for 6 weeks)

    Advanced is our final level of obedience. Do you want your dog to behave well in public? This is the class for you! We’ll be working on expert level obedience cues and manners that will teach your dog to listen to you no matter the scenario. We’ll also work on alternate reward strategies and fading out those treats, as well as perfecting your heel. Advanced goes over all the criteria needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test, and once you’re ready, Lisa can evaluate you and your pup for that title!

The Ruff Academy Board & Train

What is Board & Train?

Board & Train is a vacation for your dog… with some work attached. It’s a 2 week stay with us at The Ruff Ranch 70, so of course it’s going to be fun. In addition, your dog will get daily obedience training. This training is fully customized to your dog. You will have a full consultation with our trainer and decide the needs and expectations for your dog. We then book your stay and get to work… and lots of play too. You will also receive daily pictures and progress videos.

Commands include but are not limited to: “Sit”, “Stay”, “Down”, “Place”, “Heel”, “Off”, “Drop it” along with basic manners. A meeting before going to home to show you everything they’ve learned is included.
